How Is LaseMD Actually Different From Other Laser Treatments in MA?

LaseMD laser treatment in Massachusetts
LaseMD laser treatment in Massachusetts

With so many options to choose from, researching laser treatments in MA can quickly become confusing. You read about IPL, RF treatments, and resurfacing lasers, only to add another to the list: LaseMD.

This non-ablative laser treatment rejuvenates the skin while reducing downtime. It’s great for making the skin look more vibrant by targeting fine lines, texture issues, and uneven pigmentation.

Here’s what you need to know before booking an appointment.

LaseMD: The Details You Need to Know

Simply put, LaseMD encourages your skin to repair on its own. During treatment, a handheld laser is gently pressed against the skin, which creates microchannels beneath the surface.

This revs up the skin’s natural healing response while also encouraging collagen and elastin production. So, while it helps make your skin look smoother and younger, it also stimulates processes that keep your skin looking healthier over time.

Because the laser is non-ablative, it doesn’t remove the entire outer layer of the skin. It’s gentler but still creates amazing results.

How Is It Different From Other Laser Treatments in MA?

Not every laser has the same purpose. Some primary target pigment while others are designed for aggressive resurfacing.

LaseMD takes a holistic approach to skin rejuvenation. It can be used to address:

  • Fine lines
  • Dark spots and hyperpigmentation
  • Dullness
  • Enlarged pores

What’s great about this laser is that it’s gentle enough for all skin types and complexions. So whether you have fair or melanin-rich skin, LaseMD is entirely safe.

What About Downtime?

This is another big perk of LaseMD. If you don’t want to spend a week hiding at home dealing with redness, peeling, and itching, this treatment is for you.

When it comes to laser treatments, downtime is totally dependent on the intensity of the treatment. Lighter sessions cause a few hours of pinkness and mild swelling.

On the other hand, deeper treatments can cause the skin to become dry and rough for a week as it exfoliates.

After treatment, you’ll have mild to moderate redness, slight swelling, and a warm flushing sensation. Your skin may feel tight as well.

These side effects usually go away within a day or two.

What Happens During Treatment?

At Vibrant Dermatology, your appointment will start with a consultation. We’ll discuss your concerns and goals and then thoroughly assess your skin to create a personalized treatment plan.

For comfort, your provider will apply a numbing cream that sits on your skin for 20-30 minutes before treatment begins.

LaseMD treatment usually takes around 30 minutes, but this is dependent on your skin concerns. During the session you may experience a warm, tingling, or prickling sensation.

At the end, a specialized serum made with peptides, vitamins, or exosomes is massaged into the skin so that it can be absorbed through the microchannels.

When Will I See Results?

Another nice benefit of this laser treatment is that you don’t have to wait forever to see a difference. Patients usually see changes within a week after just one session.

You skin will be brighter skin, reduced fine lines, and less noticeable pigmentation. After two to four weeks, you’ll see deeper changes like increasing firmness, fading pigmentation, and collagen remodeling.

For optimal results, we recommend two to four sessions. Of course, this varies based on your unique needs.
